Responsibility is part of our every day

We want to keep our environment vibrant for our current and future customers and society in the Lahti region. Our mission is to produce carefree energy and identify solutions for customers for the sustainable production, distribution and consumption of heating, cooling and electricity. Our work is guided by our sustainability policy and programme, in which we have set targets for ourselves regarding the climate, biodiversity, human rights, supply chains and raw materials. We will implement the green transition while keeping our finances on a sound footing. In line with our climate-positive vision, homes and properties in the Lahti region will have carbon-negative heating by 2035.

We have included the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in our responsibility themes. The achievement of the goals is monitored through our sustainability programme for 2024–2028.

Low-emission energy production with high security of supply

We contribute to the green transition and development of the energy market to be more environmentally and climate-friendly. We will continue to invest in emission-free energy production and diversify our production methods. We are investigating our possibilities to phase out combustion in energy production by the 2040s. The fuels we purchase are certified.

In our energy production, we use non-recyclable material from which any recyclable material has been separated prior to combustion. In this way, we support circular economy targets both in Finland and in the EU.

The high security of supply of our energy production allows us to create security, vitality and well-being for our customers, the residents of the Lahti region and society. We do our part to ensure the security of electricity supply throughout Finland: We are part of the national peak load capacity system in extreme electricity consumption situations.

Societal responsibility

The well-being and safety of our personnel are at the core of our operations. Our strong expertise makes us a reliable energy service partner for our customers.

Our social and societal responsibility includes our impact on stakeholders, such as our personnel, the personnel of our suppliers and subcontractors, our customers and the local community.

We develop and maintain the diversity, equality and inclusivity of our work community, i.e. an equitable, non-discriminatory, inclusive and participatory approach. We measure our success, take action, report on the results and develop operations based on the results and feedback.
